Academy students meet rock star physicist Brian Cox

Students from our Academy attended a prestigious lecture with rock star physicist Brian Cox where they had the chance to learn about the 'Big Bang'. The TV science presenter delivered the first in a series of Star Lectures at the University of Manchester.

His lesson on the Big Bang was webcast live to thousands of teenage science students on the internet.

As a professor with a PhD in High Energy Particle Physics, Brian Cox is used to working alongside the finest minds in the field of science. But the cult academic and presenter of the BBC TV series "Wonders of the Solar System," also has a special ability for making the subject accessible and interesting. He's using that talent to discuss some very big ideas such as the origins of the Universe with thousands of GCSE pupils up and down the country.

21 students from our Academy left the lecture feeling enthused about the subject and wanting to learn more.

"I think us doing incredible things as a civilisation is important. Those things, I think inspire kids because they are exploration in the old fashioned sense." Professor Brian Cox

Aye mate! And welcome to limbo! Problem: I have no idea what page you're trying to work on. You need to define a body ID in the template, then turn on the necessary rows and columns in layout.css. Arrrrgh!
