The catering department is celebrating a very positive response to a survey regarding the 'lunch time experience' at Oasis Academy: MediaCityUK. Following a disappointing survey over a year and a half ago the academy took the operation in house with a new management team who have turned things around with a resounding vote of confidence from all the staff and students. Everyone using the facilities were asked about meals, service and asked to give ideas for improvements. Most of the recommendations were for new queuing systems and eating areas outside, but feedback on the service received and food was really pleasing.
Steve Tarry our new catering manager said 'after reading the report from the recent survey I was overly pleased with the results and it showed that all our hard work is paying off. I was keen to give the students a voice and to act upon all recommendations given. A new queuing system will be implemented next year and outside eating areas have already been put in place. I see the students as a key part in the future developments within the catering department and after my first year at Oasis I have got to know many students and see their input to be invaluable.'
From all respondents to the survey, an overwhelming number voted the overall experience was either good or delicious with not a single person choosing horrible! Great news if you want to eat lunch at the Academy!
