Oasis Academy MediaCityUK Sixth Form has achieved some outstanding results this year during their 1st year of A-Levels. With a 98% pass rate for A-Levels it has provided a good platform for students to move on with confidence. 100% of those who applied to university attained their place of choice.
Tofunmi Adealkun a student from the sixth form achieved some incredible results. Tofunmi came to the Academy at the end of year 7 from Africa and with English as an additional language she had to quickly try and settle into a new life whilst trying her best to obtain the best results she possibly could. Throughout her time at the Academy she pushed herself to become an outstanding student achieving some great GCSE's. Tofunmi then moved on to the Academy sixth form and again surpassed her predicted grades achieving 4 A-Levels and now wants to move on and do pharmacology.
Sarah Jones a student that throughout her time within the Academy had poor attendance and was predicted middle of the road results. However, once Sarah joined the Academy Sixth Form, she turned her attendance around and focussed on her studies. Consequently, she achieved the sixth forms highest grade in English, obtaining an A* in English Literature after only being predicted a grade C.
The 10 students studying Advanced Health and Social Care passed their course with either Merit or Distinction. Indeed, 6 of the students achieved a treble distinction, which has allowed all students from the course to move onto Higher Education or employment with pride and confidence.
Principal Patrick Ottley-O'Connor - "In our first year of A-level results, we are very pleased with the grades that our students have gained, including some fantastic individual achievements. It provides an excellent foundation for September 2012 when we move down to our new state of the art £25m build on the MediaCityUK site, where we have established a great partnership with the outstanding Salford College to create a regional 6th Form hub for Digital Media."
Aye mate! And welcome to limbo! Problem: I have no idea what page you're trying to work on. You need to define a body ID in the template, then turn on the necessary rows and columns in layout.css. Arrrrgh!
