Students take part in BBC project

15 of our most hard working Year 8 students in Creative Curriculum were rewarded with a chance to participate in a BBC 21CC project about Salford Docks.  The project is part of the Lowry’s 10th Anniversary celebrations.  The students were assigned with interviewing ex dock workers and putting a short film together.  The films will be given to 5 Salford primary schools and used by the pupils to create animations.

Working in teams of three, the students researched the history of Salford Docks and prepared a set of questions to ask an ex dock worker.  They went to the Lowry on Tuesday 2 March to learn how to operate the camera and sound equipment.  The day was gloriously sunny so the interviews took place out and about on the Quays.  The students got some fabulous shots and really enjoyed listening to the dock workers reminisce about the old days!  Editing of the films was completed a few days later on a Super Learning Day.

The organisers at BBC 21CC were bowled over by the work the students produced and commented on what a confident and creative bunch of people they are.  The results speak for themselves and will be available for all to see at the Lowry when the anniversary exhibition opens in April.

Aye mate! And welcome to limbo! Problem: I have no idea what page you're trying to work on. You need to define a body ID in the template, then turn on the necessary rows and columns in layout.css. Arrrrgh!
