Y11 Mock Examinations

The assessments will be completed over a two-week period, commencing on Monday 11th November 2024 and finishing on Tuesday 28nd November 2024

If a student is absent during one or more of their exams, they will be given an opportunity to sit the exam once they return to school.

How to support your child at home:

Support your son/daughter to attend school. Students with over 93% attendance perform much better than other students. We see this nationally and within our own academy.

Last year, only 20% of students with below 90% attendance secured 4+’sin both English and Maths

Please ensure appointments are made outside of school time where at all possible
Our teachers, go above and beyond, offering afterschool revision/intervention sessions after school. Our staff do not get paid for this, but offer their time to support our Year 11’s. Please can you support and encourage your child(ren) to attend as many of these sessions as possible. Some students have been specifically invited to attend certain subjects – a separate letter has been sent to those parents/carers. Their attendance to these sessions is expected and rewarded according to our rewards policy. All sessions run from 2.50pm – 3.50pm

Year 11 afterschool intervention timetable:

Homework. All of our teachers set regular homework. The purpose of homework is to build upon classroom learning and embed key knowledge through recall. It gives pupils the opportunity to research topics further and in more depth, and it teaches them to work towards and meet deadlines. Homework is set using a variety of platforms which can be accessed on line via the iPad or on paper handouts.
