Our Curriculum

The curriculum is the totality of experiences, planned for students within lessons, enrichment activities and beyond the school day.


We will ensure all our students are entitled to a curriculum and opportunities for personal achievement, which will enable them to:

  • Be enthusiastic, effective learners who exceed expectations
  • Progress to the next stage of learning post 16 and 18
  • Develop character, values, personal and social skills to enable them to contribute to their community and succeed in life

Curriculum Delivery

We will

  • Meet the needs of all our students including those with special and additional needs
  • Enrich learning, develop skills and interests and promote progression
  • Develop 21st century knowledge and skills required for qualifications and employability
  • Deliver high quality teaching, learning and assessment to maximise achievement and develop character

Key Stage 3 - Years 7-9

  • Ensure effective transition to secondary education, by building on the skills, knowledge and understanding gained at primary school
  • Deliver and enrich, robust and challenging programmes of study which prepare students for new qualifications at KS4
  • Prepare students to make GCSE option choices in year 9

Key Stage 4 - Years 10-11

  • Develop study skills, interventions and examination techniques to ensure success in qualifications
  • Ensure all students can progress post 16 with a suite of appropriate qualifications and experiences
  • Achievement in English Baccalaureate subjects is a priority for the large majority of students, which involves English, maths and science lessons every day for all students.
